About

Alongside his work as a teacher, Jonathon has a huge wealth of experience in the music industry that he brings to his lessons. After starting to learn music at a very early age, he formed his first band at sixteen, with whom he would sign his first recording contract shortly after leaving school. Their self produced EP was played on XFM, distributed in major record stores throughout Europe, and received healthy write ups from the international music press as they toured the UK extensively.

After graduating from the London College of Music in 2001, Jonathon continued to write, produce, and perform in a number of original creative projects. His last band, My Preserver, were cited by Kerrang magazine as being “one of the most exciting – and important – new British bands to emerge [in 2013]”, with their debut album also featuring in the magazine’s top 10 albums of the same year. Working with one of the world’s biggest management companies, the band achieved radio playlistings and spotplays on the BBC, XFM and Kerrang Radio, and performed numerous live national radio sessions. Their touring schedule included appearances at some of the UK’s largest music festivals, as they performed throughout the UK and Europe over a 7 year period.

As a songwriter and session guitar player, Jonathon’s work with Dan Clews has been broadcast on BBC Radio 2 by the legendary Bob Harris; signed by George Martin Publishing (The Beatles); reviewed by Mojo, Uncut and the Observer; and has achieved countless national radio playlistings.

As a producer, Jonathon has also experienced success, with his work achieving record of the week status on BBC Introducing, and featured by Tom Robinson on his BBC new music show.
